Moderate plus rubbing and wear to edges and corners of boards, joints, and head and tail of spine; moderate general rubbing and wear to board surfaces overall. Splitting to front joint, several significant dents to top edge of rear board, and loss to head of spine. Text block lightly age toned with light plus foxing to text pages; significant foxing to plates. Stains to text block edges and scattered stains to end papers and text block. Split starting at front hinge. Early ink ownership inscriptions to front free endpaper and title page. Contemporary review pasted to front free endpaper verso. Shelved in Room G. 1383312.
