3 volumes. 5.5 x 8.75 inches. vii + 167 pp., viii + 168 pp., vii + 168 pp. Contemporary half calf, gilt. Marbled boards and edges. Some foxing. Edges rubbed and corners a little bumped otherwise a good set in uniform bindings. Milman was Professor of Poetry at Oxford and later Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral, London. His dramatic poem The Martyr of Antioch was adapted by Gilbert and Sullivan for a sacred musical drama composed for and introduced at the Leeds Triennial Festival, October 15, 1880.
