Binding tight, collector bookplate, pages browned, owner name in pencil on title page, "Thomas Gilpin Editor" written in pen in old hand on title page. Title continued: "Comprising the Official Papers of the Government Relating to That Period 1777-1778." This volume gives the story of the banishment to Winchester, Virginia, of several Quaker leaders of Philadelphia for their pacifist stand during the Revolutionary War.
