Large octavo. (ix) 265pp. Purple buckram boards, with gilt lettering on the front cover and spine. Frontispiece reproduction of a woodcut portrait of Dalcroze. This is a finely printed English translated edition of à mile Jaques-Dalcroze's pioneering treatise on his musical education philosophy, which he called "Eurhythmics". The groundbreaking and influential method sought teach students music through kinetic movement, helping them gain physical awareness and muti-sensory experiences of the music. The famed 1980s pop group took their name from this method. The book is illustrated throughout with lithographic illustrations displaying the movements and exercises, in black. Binding with some light rubbing to extremities. Spine sunned. Edges of book block with some water stains. Interior with starting at the front free endpapers.
