Published byBell and Daldy, London, 1867. Octavo, 430 pp, 50 hand coloured half page vignettes, 51 other engraved vignettes and tailpieces. The tailpieces are often humorous. Publisher's decorated gilt boards, decorated spine, all edges gilt. Internal condition very good but binding less so. The text block is not tight but the signatures are secure if the fore-edges are sometimes proud. Cloth hinges worn, especially the lower, which is open for two thirds its length. Corners and board edges a trifle bumped and extrems of spine frayed, (See images). Evidence of bookplate having been removed. Note: the hand colouring is extremely fine and neat.
