Black textured soft leather boards with gilt text "Enabling Act /Constitution of New Mexico." Chips and rubbing on spine and corners. All edges and endpapers marbled. Some wear and creases on endpapers. Two documents are bound together, the enabling act HR 18166 dated 1910 and a copy of the New Mexico constitution from Senate documents with date of Feburary 24, 1911. Blue page separates the two documents. Many lined blank pages for notes, with no marks anywhere except on first page of enabling act. Provenance notes in front endpapers indicate previous ownership by Senator Albert B. Fall, who was later the first US cabinet member sentenced to prison. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
