Seller: Chapter 1, Johannesburg, GAU, South Africa
Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. First Edition. Complete. An enjoyable over-view of this under-rated Norfolk artist. Seago was a great favourite of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Indeed, one of the last things King George VI did was to look at, and appreciate, some paintings Seago had sent to Sandringham with the Queen (who had spent much of the day with him and Princess Margaret). The King died in his sleep a few hours later. This book of b/w and colour plates gives a vivid taste of his final years. The dustjacket is much worn and torn. It is scuffed and marked. It is comfortable and secure. The boards are restful and calm. They have some wear to the edges. Within, the contents are benign. Plate 27 is loose. There is evidence of happy ownership. Otherwise, the pages are calm, clear, clean, engaging and enchanting. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services. Seller Inventory # bpnl
