after Toshusai Sharaku (Japanese active 1794-95) * Kabukia actor Ichikawa Ebizo IV as Takemura Sadanoshi in play "The Colored Reins of a Loving Wife" (Koi nyobo somewake tazuna) * Presumed to be a modern recarved edition made at some time in the 20th century. * Polychrome woodblock print, ink and color on paper with grey to black mica background * Back has some extremely small Japanese characters in blue along border. * Not laid down. * Image size 10 1/4" wide x 15 5/8" * Paper size is 10 1/2" x 16". * Protected inside a folding mat 13" x 19". * Not framed. * Excellent condition.
