This printing, the first, was limited to 300 copies per statement in book. Has in the text the first editions in English of three early Russian works on Alaska: Shelekhov's "Voyage to Alaska", 1793, Berkh's "History of the Aleutian Islands" 1823, and Khlebnikov's "Life of Baranov", 1835. Frontispiece illustration portrait of Shelekhov. Endpapers are map of eastern Russia and west coast of North America. Internally a fine copy, but cloth binding with losses on spine especially large chip at head of spine. Discounted accordingly. A scarce work nevertheless.
