About this Item
[nice clean book, bumped at several corners, front hinge partially cracked; jacket has numerous small edge-tears, minor paper loss at a couple of corners Novel set in "the England of the back street and the pub and the mews," featuring as its central figure "Charles Honey, the one-eyed junk dealer, out of a shadowy past, somehow mysteriously connected with a drum and a monkey. Lovable, oppressed by a desire for better surroundings, his life seems to come finally to blossom in the first of his son, Bicky.
