About this Item
(London: Burke Publishing 1948) together with Food (London: Burke Publishing 1949). Both First UK Editions. Both bound in beige cloth in black dustwrappers. "Drink" is a bright and clean near fine copy in a rubbed price-clipped dustwraopper with shallow chipping at the top of the spine (not affecting any lettering. "Food" is foxed to the top edge otherwise a really bright and clean fine copy in a near fine price-clipped dustwrapper. Both volumes housed together in publisher's red box which is rubbed and worn to the extremities. Both volumes in the Pleasures of Life series. In the Appendix of "Drink" there are suggested menus and recipes for cocktails to add a utilitarian flavour to all this richness, At the time of listing we can find no other examples of this pair of books in the original slip-case.
