Bibliographic Details

Title: The Dreams of Chang and Other Stories [...

Publisher: Alfred A. Knopf, New York

Publication Date: 1923

Binding: Hardcover

Book Condition: Very Good

Signed: Signed by Author(s)

Edition: First American edition.

A Very Good copy of the first American edition, first printing [spine ends pushed, light sunning to the spine, minor rubbing to the front board title box, quite small tear to the spine's left edge, board corners rubbed) -- lacking the scarce dust jacket], SIGNED BY IVAN BUNIN on the title page; a collection of 15 short stories from one of the great masters of the genre. A prominent and highly-respected author, Bunin won the 1933 Nobel Prize in Literature for "the strict artistry with which he has carried on the classical Russian traditions in prose writing", making him the first Russian writer ever to win the Prize. Bunin also won Russia's Pushkin Prize multiple times, and counted other great writers, such as Vladimir Nabokov among his admirers. Copies of this Bunin novel are scarce to the market, and signed copies of Bunin's works in English translation are as scarce as hen's teeth. A Very Good copy, SIGNED BY IVAN BUNIN. RARE.
