Published: 1808-1809. DESCRIPTION: Complete four volume set in half leather bound in contemporary calf on marbled boards. Language: English. Book Condition: Fair: Heavy wear to corners, edges and spine ends. The leather carries a sheen from what appears to be a coating of some nature applied many years now missing in some ends and edges. Rubbed boards. All text blocks are tightly bound. Although some endpapers are cracked, hinges remain very firm. Smaller circular 'M' stamp to upper right corner of title or subsequent page. Prev owners name to front paste down all all volumes. Clean unmarked pages. Vol I: Detached front board along with endpaper, half title and frontis. Open front spine edge. Vol IV: 4cm split to lower front spine edge. DJ Condition: No DJ Pages Vol. 1: xlii, 418, frontis of Dante Alighieri; Vol. 2: 419 p.p.; Vol. 3: 422 p.p.; Vol. 4: , 211-448 p.p., iv p.p. (table), 8 p.p. (names of associate lords). Size: 15cm by 10cm. AUTHOR: Romualdo Zotti was an expatriate printer and teacher of Italian at a girls school living in London. Zottis La Divina Comedia was first published in three volumes in 1808 with the fourth added in 1809. The fourth volume contains Canzoni e Sonetti di Dante Alighieri, a collection of his songs and sonnets, which includes a dissertation on Dantes Divine Comedy by Mr. Merian. Seller Inventory # 10152
