Book Description Hardcover. Book Condition: Good. No Jacket. Leonard Richmond (illustrator). 9.5" x 7". A guide book to a selected set of locations in Devon and Cornwall illustrated with reproductions of paintings. The book appears to be published to support tourists using the Southern Railway's "Atlantic Coast Express" and two maps of railway lines exist within the book. Not dated but the Southern Railway association would make this book date to between 1923 and 1948, probably pre-1939. In clean and sound condition internally, although the covers show some signs of handling. All orders processed and shipped promptly from the UK, usually on the same or next business day. Book Description 1935. Hardback. Book Condition: Fine. Leonard Richmond (illustrator). Reprint. DEVON AND CORNISH DAYS E. P. Leigh-Bennett Illustrated By Leonard Richmond. 1935 Reprint. 64pp Illustrated Hardback. This copy is in fine condition. The paper covered boards have one or two blemishes but forgivable in a book of this age. There are marbled end papers This copy has a small amendment label to the front end paper correcting a reference on page 36 to the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway noting that the line had closed just as the book went to press. The real glory of this book are the sixteen full colour plates by Leonard Richmond. Leonard Richmond (AKA: Leonard "Slim" Richmond) was a British painter, graphic artist, illustrator, poster designer, educator, author, art critic and a Canadian war artist. He was born in Somerset county (south west England). When not traveling, he lived most of his life in London, England and its environs. He also lived in the St. Ives artistís colony, Cornwall on several occasions; most notably in 1932, 1935 and for three years from 1946 to 1949. His mediums were oil, watercolor, pastel, graphite and lithography. His subjects were landscapes, cityscapes, villages, mountains (Rockies, Alps), harbours, figures, portraits, holiday locations, still life, trains, ocean liners, sailboats and military railway construction during World War I. The painting locations are from his extensive travels across Canada, the United States, Britain and Europe. His styles are Plein Air and Realism. Ref H5 Size: 64pp. Bookseller Inventory # 010710
