Tschetter (Marion, South Dakota), 6 x 9 inches tall paperbound in green printed covers, copiously illustrated with black-and-white photographs and maps, extensive index, xxxviii, 208 pp. Seven-page 1995 family reunion pamphlet laid in. Slight soiling and rubbing and moderate creasing to covers. 1/4-inch tear to to edge of the front cover at the hinge. Nicely inscribed and signed by the author on the top margin of the title page. Small hole to middle of one leaf in the index, not effecting text. Otherwise, apart from a few creased page tips, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked - of this scarce genealogy and family history. ~I~ [1.5P] Looks at the ancestry of, and traces the known descendants of, Benjamin G. Boese (1817-1866), who married Maria Schmit and lived at Zabara-Waldheim, Russia. After Benjamin's death, his widow and family immigrated in 1874 from Russia to New York, and settled near Avon, South Dakota. Descendants and relatives lived in South Dakota, Colorado, Michigan, California, Florida and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Saskatchewan and elsewhere in Canada. Includes family history and some genealogical data in Russia and earlier in Prussia.
