This VG- quality book was published in 1946 by Crown Publishing Company. It is 7-1/2" tall and has 243 numbered pages followed by an unnumbered page advertising the next book in this series, which was never published; it is a thin copy, only 7/8" thick. It is square, fairly clean, with all four corners bumped and a ding on the top of the front board; the head and heel of the spine are bumped with some short tears and some color loss. The bottom edges and lower front corners have a moderate amount of wear, as do the fore and top edges. The front cover has some small stains and scrapings. Except for a red wax pencil price marking on the rear paste down, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks and stains of any sort. Both hinges are strong and not damaged. There are no illustrations, not even a frontis, in this book or any other book in this series. The paper is heavily toned but not brittle and quite flexible; however, pgs. 23-24 have a 2" x 3/4" chip broken off the top edge, slightly affecting two words in the top line of the text.
