This VG quality book was published in 1941 by Crown Publishing Company. It is 7-1/2" tall and has 255 numbered pages followed by an unnumbered page advertising the next book in this series; it is a decently thick copy at 1" thick. It is square, very clean, completely free of corner bumps but with a serious edge ding at the bottom of the front board (it cuts through the jacket, nearly cuts through the pebbled binding, and cuts/indents the first 40 pages--it almost looks as though some kid was practicing with a machete); the head and heel of the spine are barely bumped, with no cloth damage. The bottom edges and lower front corners have very little wear. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage not yet mentioned. Both hinges are strong and not damaged. There are no illustrations, not even a frontis, in this book or any other book in this series. The paper is very slightly toned, not at all brittle and quite flexible. The VG- quality jacket is moderately soiled; it has tiny chips at all four corners and small spots of color loss at the head of the spine, and, of course, that 1/2" cut at the bottom of the front panel.
