About this Item
Sixth plate daguerreotype. Image size approximately 2.75" x 3.25". Matted with preserver in original embossed leather case which lacks the front half of the case. Appears to have original seal. Light tarnish on margins, else a clean near fine image. Middle-age woman in bonnet with her arms crossed sits next to a young man, who holds a book open on his lap. Slight, delicate contemporary pink tinting on both of their cheeks. Neither the subjects or the photographer are indentified. Our attribution of date suggested by the mat, preserver, and case on the daguerreotype. An attractive image. Seller Inventory # 588472
