First published in the North Down Herald, and later in book form c1890. Not reprinted since 1979, as far as we know. First published in the North Down Herald and later published in book from around 1890; re-published with appendix 1979. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to front board, unlettered spine. Spine is tilted, bumping to spine ends and corners, slight rubbing to edges. Illustrated dust jacket has sunning to edges, a few spots of staining, small chips to spine ends, 1" tear to front joint, bumping to edges, and a few short tears to head of rear cover. Ownership sticker to front pastedown. B&W photos throughout. "Daft Eddie, or the Smugglers of Strangford Lough" tells the story of the incredible activities of a wild band of smugglers who conducted a reign of terror around the shores of Strangford Lough in the early years of the 19th century.
