title page undated, written inscription dated 1825 this is a very scarce provincial printing of this collection of Christian Religious Songs adapted in easy language for children, published in Wellington, Shropshire by Houlston and Sons, bound in the original printed hardcovers, a small slim format 5.5 inches tall approx., 71 pages, charmingly illustrated with a frontispiece and 36 woodcuts within the text, the covers are darkened and marked with some corner wear, some loss to the original paper covering on the spine a previous owner has crudely but effectively has resewn the binding as the front cover had become detached at some point in its history, cover loosened but holding, internally some marking to title page, old ownership name on top edge of frontispiece, a couple of small noticeable marks within otherwise contents generally clean A GENERALLY GOOD ACCEPTABLE EXAMPLE OF THIS VERY SCARCE PROVINCIAL PRINTING FROM WELLINGTON IN SHROPSHIRE, ENGLAND.
