About this Item

Grey w/black lettering. Line of sunning both head and heel. Scars from DJ being glued to inside covers. Lending stamps on front endpaper, inside cover, very faint stamp on upper outside edge, edges spotty. Text clean and nice, no marks. Unclipped DJ has been trimmed on top and bottom edges (accounting for the sunned lines) It is wrinkled and has a piece of tape on front cover, small label on spine, and damage to blurb from removal of DJ. Jacket design by Robert Cardiff. "Hero or weakling- Coward or Puritan- lover or madman- what was Fred Stowe? History tells us that his name was Frederick William Stowe, that he was the son of the most famous woman in America, seved as captain in the Union Army, and was gravely wounded at Gettysburg. This is the story of his life as the novelist has imagined and created it." (from the jacket blurb). Bookseller Inventory # 10280X
