Two edges uncut, light green top stain. 8 color illustrations by Margaret Waterfield tipped-in. Ten essays on the various joys of gardening by E.V. B., William Lawson, Margaret A. Paul, John Gerarde, Sir Walter Scott, Alexander Smith, William Harper, Sir Uvedale Price, Richard Le Gallienne, and Anonymous. Lovely color art bright and intact; light soil on edges; edges of spine chipped & worn. Sewn binding is solid, though tender at a few gathers. Very light scattered foxing, mostly in margins. Piece torn from lower corner of front free endpaper. Illustrations are brilliant, clean and free from foxing; all 8 present. Packaged with care and shipped in a box. Bookseller Inventory # 28216
