This 5.25 x 7.75 inch, 293 page hardcover book is the stated first printing of this title in 1905 as shown by the title page designation - Copyright, 1905 Published February 1905. This copy is in fine condition with just the slightest touch of rubbing to the cloth corners - - with the dark green cloth with colored pictorial and gilt lettering on the front panel gilt titling on the spine - - all clean and in fine condition. The interior text shows only one condition to mention - - with the title page itself about one-third separated at the spine but still firmly held in place - - but beyond that there are no markings, damage, or reading wear - - with the deckle fore-edges still rough and with 12 full-page illustration's and four pages with maps and with several pages uncut. The binding is still fully tight and square. This book gives an account of the conquest of Texas by the Americans moving into that territory and prevailing over the Mexican dominion by force. The book gives an account of the leadership of Sam Houston, the battle at the Alamo, and then the following Mexican War in the 1840's - - all concluding with Texas becoming a part of the United States. 293 pages.
