(toned, a single letter of title partly erased, skilful repairs to blank top margin of ff. 71-145). 20th-century dark jansenist morocco by Hans Asper, gilt-titled spine on 5 raised bands, gilt sides, gilt inside dentelles, marbled endpapers, a.e.g., green silk marker. Very good copy. Early edition (1st 1543), also issued by J. Foucher, of a treatise on "modern" heresies by the Dominican Inquisitor (of Tournai) J. Bunderius (Ghent 1481-1557). Title within woodcut border. Binding signed H. Asper (Swiss binder 1880-1941?). Ref. BP16 112345. - Pettegree FB 59462. - Not in Adams, STC French (BL). Prov.
