Vignette on title page. Decorative head-, tailpieces and initials. The Dutch physician Josse van Lom (1500-1563) was one of the most influential diagnosticians of the 16th century. The present work deals with the maintenance of health and is based upon the first book of Celsus's "De Re Medica." The Celsus was first printed in 1558, then reprinted in 1724 and 1734 before this printing. Moderate rubbing along joints. Minor shelf wear. Offsetting on endpapers. Text in Latin.
