Book Description Houghton Mifflin, Boston, 1968. Hardcover. Book Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. First Printing. An unequivocally Fine copy in medium grey cloth. The dustwrapper is also Fine, but for mild toning to spine panel (as typically). Not price-clipped. 179pp. Agee's first book was the Yale Younger Poets Prize winner for 1934; he would not publish another collection of verse in his lifetime [he died in 1955]. For his classical style and lyrical voice, and his Southern roots, Agee might have been thought a sort of younger Fugitive in the beginning, if he had not segued into journalism and fiction-writing. Text and endpapers clean and unmarked. Q09151. Bookseller Inventory # Q09151
