Illustrated from Drawings by William Martin Johnson Complete in Two Volumes, 3/4 Leather, Harper & Brothers, New York, 1894, 8.25 x 5.5 , 8vo. In good condition. Light wear to extremities with minor scuffing to edges and corners. Gilt ruling and compartments bright. Light dryness at joints and raised bands. Marbled boards slightly scuffed. End papers clean and bright. Interiors are lightly toned, to be expected. Free of known markings. Relatively fresh considering age. Bindings are intact. Top edges gilt. Please see photos. Originally published in 1861, The Cloister and the Hearth is a historical novel by the English author Charles Reade.
