Add to basketBurgess, Anthony. A Clockwork Orange. New York: Ballantine Books 1965. First mass-market pulp edition of the novel. 191 pages. Cover art shows a youth in sunglasses and black leather riding a motorcycle, while two other men in black leather and a blonde woman cluster in the background. Text above title reads, "Terrifying Shocker of a World Dominated by Teen-age Gangs." Dazzling and transgressive, A Clockwork Orange is a frightening fable about good and evil and the meaning of human freedom. This pulp edition of the classic novel sustains some minor scuffs and creases. There is an orange line under the word "Orange" in the title. The cover art is by Mozelle Thompson and predates the Kubrik movie by 6 years. Back cover has some discoloration. Bumping to bottom of spine. There are a few notes in pencil through the book. Otherwise, cover colors are bright and crisp. Very good condition.
