This volume presents a detailed study of the life of the Khmer people who lived at Angkor and in the surrounding countryside. The author, Madeleine Giteau, is a well-known French art historian and epigrapher who served for many years as the chief curator of the National Museum of Phnom Penh, Cambodia prior to the rise of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. The book is divided into four parts: Life in the Provinces, Life in Angkor, Life in the Palace, and Life in the Temples and Ceremonials. No ownership marks and no signs of use.
