Single page from "The Universal Traveller: Or, A Compleat Description Of the several Nations of the World" by Mr. Salmon, printed for Richard Baldwin, London, 1759. A striking view of Canton. The harbour bustles with activity, filled with ships of all sizes. The image is after the work of Joan Nieuhof whose 17th century views were among the earliest reliable pictures of China.
