Illustrated by Stephen Spurrier. Language: English. Book Condition> Very Good+: Very light wear to sharp corners, edges and spine ends. Clean cloth. Tightly bound with lightly tanned intact endpapers and strong hinges. Inscription to ffep dated 1939. lightly tanned unmarked pages. DJ Condition> Poor: 4cm loss to upper spine end with 4cm by 2.5cm loss to upper rear corner. Heavy, creasing and tears to upper front edge with 2.5cm tear to upper front corner. Wear and small losses to lower corners and spine end. Thin hole to width of spine at lower spine end. 314pp. Size: 12mo (large) 20cm by 13.5cm. Book Resume: The Circus is Coming tells the story of a brother and sister, Peter and Santa, who have been brought up by their Aunt Rebecca When Peter is twelve and Santa eleven, their aunt dies, and there are plans to send them to orphanages Peter and Santa do not want to be separated, so they run away to their only other relative - Uncle Gus, who works for a Cobb's Circus Due to the somewhat strange way they have been brought up by their aunt, Peter and Santa are both very naive, and also rather unyielding in their views of the world During the summer they spend travelling with the circus, they mature, and find places for themselves within the circus community.
