2 volume set, 10 inches tall. A smart early Victorian full calf with gilt raised bands, extra gilt panels and twin labels. Twin gilt and a blind fillet frame the boards. Some bumps and scratches but an impressive set. Neat ink inscription on the first blank. Colour title in volume 1. Slight foxing. Illustrations throughout the text. John Froissart was a French speaking medieval chronicler who expressed the chivalric revival of the 14th century and is an important source for the first half of the Hundred Years War.
