Hardcover, in dustjacket. No publication date; circa late 1930's. Dustjacket illustration by Mary Ponton Gardner ('30 - ). Illustrated endpapers. There is bumping at the bottom corners, and just a bit of light bumping to the spine extremities. Else the binding is quite clean & bright. Spine lettering and front board lettering bright. There is a Christmas gift inscription on the front flyleaf, date 1937. Else the pages are clean. , and with very little age-toning. Some chipping at the DJ spine extremities. Tips of DJ corners bumped, rubbed, with a short tear at the bottom front corner. DJ spine shows some sunning; mostly to the illustrated lamp, which is a light tan. There is a ~1" long, thin crease, a 3/4" scratch, and a couple VERY faint spots on the DJ spine. The gifter has affixed a gummed paper star over the printed price on the DJ front inner flap.
