8" x 9 1/4", illustrated paper-covered boards, 154 pp. First Edition. Wonderfully-illustrated children's Christmas storybook with 16 full-page color plates by artist Ruth Mary Hallock. Story by Frances Trego Montgomery is one of the longest Santa Claus stories you will find. A high-quality publication with good paper and coated stock for the color plates. Very little foxing other than at the endpapers. Overall condition is Good or better with the only major issue being the paper covering of the spine has about 20% loss; if there was a title on the spine, it is no longer visible. Ordinarily one would adhere black or red cloth tape to the spine which would make the book more attractive but I do not do such irreversable work to books. The binding itself is quite sound. The foredge corners of both boards are well-worn through and there is lesser wear to some other edges. The cover illustrations (same on both boards) are somewhat rubbed and soiled but actually still colorful and bright); see photo enlarged. Internally good with only the endpaper foxing and a penciled FO name and address on FFEP; otherwise quite nice with all the color plates in excellent condition. A very scarce Santa Claus book.
