Octavo (17.5cm x 11cm x 1.5cm). Pp. 166. English text. Publisher's original red cloth over limp boards with gilt titles and decorations to spine and front cover. Advertisements to endpapers. Half-title present. Illustrations by John Leech including a frontispiece. Condition: VERY GOOD. Binding tight and secure with the joints and hinges intact. Published by Penguin Books in 1954 from their King Penguin Series of small hardback books, here is the reset and reprinted version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol in Prose: Being a Ghost Story of Christmas by Charles Dickens with illustrations by John Leech. Superb paper covered red pictorial boards, 94 pages including superb b/w and colour full page plates, the book is in very good condition with some very minor rubbing to the bottom corners and base of the boards and a very slight slanting of the spine near the base. The vibrant, dust jacket is very good with very moderate corner edge and spine rubbing culminating in edge chipping, a few tiny closed tears and 3mm of loss at the top of the spine.
