### Very Good book is clean and tight. No dust jacket. Cloth covers with gilt lettering and ornamentation on spine. Gift inscription in pencil on blank page (father to son on Christmas 1917). Edges and pages are age toned but are not foxed. There are a few light pencil checks in margins plus some pencil notes are laid in. Covers are lightly bumped at corners and spine is a bit faded. Endpapers separating but hinges remain sound. Many engraved illustrations on plates. Not a remainder. Not POD. Not ex library. 420 pages. Measures: c. 5 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches.
