About this Item
(no dust jacket, probably as issued) [minor external wear and light soiling]. (cartoon drawings) A really cute little book explaining the basics of good dental health for the youngsters, aiming to engender in them the "right attitude of mind and pleasant associations [which] are required to make the proper care of the mouth a habit of daily life." Sprinkled here and there throughout the text are little bits of dental-themed doggerel, generally knock-offs of well-known verses ("with apologies to James Whitcomb Riley," that sort of thing) -- and for an extra dash of literary bona fideness, the book even opens with a quotation from Shakespeare's "Coriolanus": "Bid them wash their faces / and keep their teeth clean.".
