About this Item
This book has been neatly re-bound with half-leather binding/red cloth boards and marbled endpapers. The spine has raised bands and gold gilt titles. Condition is good though the leather is rubbed in places. This is an ex-library copy (from the Bishopsgate Institute). The most obvious indication of the library provenance is a decorative Bishopsgate Institute nameplate on the front pastedown. After this the main impacts are the Institute's ink naming stamps and one withdrawal stamp see photos. On the whole these are reasonably discreet, almost hiding in plain sight, and tend to appear in locations such as the head of particular sections e.g. 'Names of Subscribers,' the Preface and finally, the main section; (starting with the charter in the time of King John). The final stamp appears on the last page (220). The binding remains tight but the moderately tanned pages are delicate and need to be handled carefully. 8vo. Please note that depending on destination we may request an additional payment to cover any extra shipping/postage charges. Abe2134. Seller Inventory # ABE-1629734149698
