About this Item
20 x 13 cm. .228 pages and identical in appearance to the 1891 First Edition. However it is clearly a later reprint because it does not have the year on the title page and by looking at the Hentys published on the title page and in the publishers listings at the back it would appear that this copy was printed in 1896 but certainly not after 1900. Henty was still writing prolifically when this book was produced. It has the same front cover and spine as the First Edition and the same six illustrations by W H Overend. Book has ex owner's signature (neat) and slight stain on rear cover with foxing of edges. But this is a fine copy of a rare Henty title subtitle 'Through the Bombardment of Alexandria' typical ripping yarn of two midshipman in the Victorian Navy. For the Henty collector the 32 pages of Blackie & Sons Books for Young People ( an illustrated listing of all titles available circa 1896)adds even more value to this item.
