Disbound. Boards detached. Leather in poor condition. The first volume has the spine missing. Text blocks generally good. A few tears along folds of some of the folding plates. Dampstains to upper corner of the last fifty pages of the first volume. A 3" tear and several 1" tears to one leaf in the second volume. Corners of some leaves creased and folded. ; Tome Premier: "Nouvelle Edition", published 1735. Tome Second: published 1728. In total two volumes. The first volume has Book 1, Parts 1 and 2. The pagination of this volume is: [iv], 139, [1] + 34 figures + 196, [2] pages + 6 plates + 11 figures. The second volume has Book 2, Parts 1, 2 and 3. The pagination of the second volume is: [iv], 386, 38, 84, [1] pages + 58 figures. Page dimensions: 16" x 9 3/4". The figures are magnificent and intriguing engravings, some of them double page or folding.
