Sheet Music Composed by Hart Crane's Aunt and Piano Teacher, Alice Crane Williams. 9 in. x 12 in., 7 pp. Design printed, glossy paper covers with Cathedral design on front cover, and list of other publications on the back cover, including seven other pieces by Alice Crane Williams. In very fine condition. Alice Crane Williams (1880-1964), the aunt of Hart Crane and his piano teacher, she composed much music and also studied abroad. She was the wife of poet, Loring Williams (1897-1970), the founder of the literary magazine "American Weave" (1945-64). Scarce. This portion of sheet music is accompanied by a photocopy of an essay by Vivian Pemberton: "Hart Crane's Heritage," which was published in the volume "Artful Thunder" (Kent State University Press), pp. 221-240. This essay gives some background regarding Alice Crane Williams' influence on the young Hart Crane. This photocopy is signed by Vivian Pemberton. Seller Inventory # VP-182
