Carlo Fontana (1638-1714), pupil of Bernini and teacher of James Gibbs, was the chief papal architect at the turn of the 18th century. The 783 drawings in the present catalogue, that are held in Windsor Castle, provide an insight into papal patronage. Minor shelf wear to the bottom edges of the book and dust marks to the top edges.
