Title: The Cambridge Economic History of Europe: ...
Publisher: Cambridge University Press
Book Condition: Very Good
Hardcovers, Volumes 1-7 in 9 books, Volumes 6 and 7 consist of two books each, matching blue cloth bindings, publishing dates vary from 1942-1978, no dustjackets, this set is from the personal library of Egyptian-born author/economist Charles P. Issawi and is signed by him on the front end-papers of four of the books, Issawi has been referred to as "the father of the study of the modern economic history of the Middle East," Issawi has placed light pencil marks and some brief comments in the margins of several pages in Volumes 1-6, these could be easily erased but we consider them an asset and they do not interfere with any of the text, also included is a page of stationery with "Princeton University Office of the Dean of Students" printed at the top and "From: Janina M. Issawi, Foreign Student Adviser" printed beneath, Janina was the wife of Charles Issawi and there are a few ink notes present o n this memo sheet, this set has been used but remains in nice shape with no major flaws, all of the spines are sunned to a lighter shade but the bright gold spine-titles remain unaffected, Volume 1 shows the most wear - some creasing to the top of the cloth and top corners of the pages, Volume 7, Part 1 has a few gently corner-creased pages, Volumes 2, 4, 6 (Parts 1 & 2) and 7 (Parts 1 & 2) are first printings, an interesting and unique association set ; Signed by Notable Personage, Related.
