Introduction describes paintings exhibited by France, Great Britain, the United States, and other (mostly European) countries at the 1889 fair, followed by 125 plates, some in color. (Two of the plates in this volume have detached, but are present in very good condition.) 3/4 leather binding in generally good condition, some usual chipping to edges and corners. Binding sturdy and solid. Oversize, approx. 15' x 18', xlii + 118pp., color and black and white plates, tissue-guards in very good condition except for first one, which shows many wrinkles, ornately decorated endpapers, hubbed spine.
