The covers are rubbed and soiled. The corners are bumped with minor wear. [32] unnumbered pages, illustrated with a color illustration as half-title, a full-page color frontispiece, title page vignette, and 29 color illustrations by Louis Wain, including 6 full-page. An early school prize label is mounted on the front pastedown. The hinges are cracked and the first page is nearly detached. There is soiling and occasional staining throughout. Good.
