No date but c1920. Publishers original maroon cloth boards with gilt blocked titles and colour onlay to front, gilt titles and decoration to spine. Binding tight with light bumping to corners and spine ends. Spine faded where jacket missing. Small crease to cloth on front board. Rough cut fore and bottom edges. Content clean and bright. Small blemish to top corner of half-title and recto of frontis. Very small retailers label 'F.J. Johnson, St Leonards' to front pastedown. Young Helpers Magazine prize plate to front endpaper. All 48 colour plates present and clean with no foxing. Jacket not clipped with chipping to spine ends with loss to foot of spine, some creasing and small tears to edges, small loss to folds, spine sunned. Overall, a very good copy. Not ex-library.
