S'il est surtout connu comme peintre de l'intimisme et des scènes d'intérieur, on ne saurait donner une idée fidèle de son art sans accorder à ses multiples dessins et lithographies la place qu'ils méritent dans son uvre. C'est comme graphiste que Bonnard fait ses premières armes ; il réalise de nombreuses affiches et illustrations pour divers magazines, dont La Revue blanche. Dès 1890, il s'associe à Maurice Denis, Edouard Vuillard et d'autres membres du groupe des nabis ; ses premières uvres se caractérisent par de grands aplats de couleur et une construction asymétrique s'inspirant de Gauguin et des estampes japonaises. A partir de 1900, sa palette s'enrichit et il développe les thèmes qui rythmeront l'ensemble de son uvre, à la manière d'une obsession : les paysages et les scènes d'intérieur. Explorant ainsi des questions formelles d'une complexité croissante, il atteint une maîtrise sans précédent de la couleur et de la lumière. A sa maturité, l'art de Bonnard manifeste une intensité éblouissante et un lyrisme qui font de lui l'un des plus grands coloristes du XXe siècle. Dans cette importante étude de la vie et de l' uvre de Bonnard, Nicholas Watkins ne présente pas un rescapé sentimental de l'impressionisme, mais un artiste exigeant et novateur qui affronte les défis d'une culture picturale en pleine évolution. If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
