In 1895, Seabrook, an aristocratic Charlestonian then working as a hotel clerk, wrote a book-length essay on race relations in the postwar South. It never found its way into print in Seabrook's lifetime but it survived him and is published here for the first time. book Edited and with an introduction by John Hammond Moore, a professor of history at Georgia State College in Atlanta. 157 pages, index, footnotes.
