Provides an outline of structures and functions of Canada's government; it's constitutional history, common law system; banking and monetary systems; educational system; municipal system; judicial system in some detail including an account of wards (electoral districts) in Winnipeg; postal services including money orders, etc.; systems of measurements and exchange; time zones; calendars; canadian economy; public finance both fedeeral and provincial; taxes; in short, a comprehensive guide to life in Canada, intended for the immigrants coming from Iceland . The author was well prepared to prepare such a work, as he was co-editor of the Winnipeg-based Canadian Icelandic newspaper Heimskringla between 1921 and 1924; and editor of that periodical from 1930-1959 (source, Kristjanson, pp. 497-8).
