Baruch Charney Vladeck (1886-1938) was an American Jewish labor leader, manager of "The Jewish Daily Forward" for twenty years, and a member of the New York City Council. The Vladeck Memorial Fund was founded to advocate racial tolerance among the people of the United States through the media of newspapers, magazines, pamphlets, books and radio; to help preserve freedom of speech, press, assembly and other inalienable rights provided for and guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States under our democratic form of government; to inform the people of the United States of the dangers of dictatorships through the press, radio and by means of books, periodicals, circulars or any other medium of communication; to voluntarily aid and voluntarily assist, wherever possible, vivtims of religious persecution; to voluntarily aid by contribution or otherwise organizations and institutions, in this country and abroad, engaged in relieving suffering by reason of economic injustices, political persecutions and racial intolerance; and to support by contribution or otherwise organizations of similar import.
